Smiley and Auto Expand Keyword for Hello
Are you a user of Hello and Picasa? If you are, I bet you are just as thirsty for all smilies/emoticons as I am.. =DEver since the first time I saw a smiley (emoticon) falling from Hello, I had been trying with a couple friends to figure out all the emoticons and auto-expand keywords for the program. We always got excited when we stumbled upon a new smiley or keyword... We were like a bunch of children finding precious stones from our sand playing.. ;)
We wanted to explore more, to find all the keywords! But nothing showed up from Google, and nothing new showed up from Hello's support forum...
Well, we had our fun with our brutal force method. ;) And we finally advanced to the method by looking at the executable (inspired by
Hello Application Oddity by Keith Horowitz).
Motios/Smilies/Emoticon (Hello refers as Motio):
heart <= 'love', 'heart', 'xo', 'hearts', 'cloverleaf' (cloverleaf actually contains the word "love", that's why...)
:( <= ':(', ':-(', ';(', '=('
>:) <= '^:)', '>:)'
:| <= ':|'
:) <= ':)', ':-)', '=)', ';)'

Just checked today with build 651, new ones are here!
LOL <= 'lol'
:o <= ':O', ':o'
;) <= ';)'
:p <= ':P', ':p'
That's it for now.. )
Auto-expand keywords (in random):
b => Bye! / See ya!
c => Awesome! / Cool!
h => Hi! / Howdy / Hello!
k => ok / okay
l => lol
n => No / Nope
y => Yep / Yes
bfn => Bye for Now
brb => Be back in a minute / Be right back
md => Mos Def! / Most Definitely
np => No Problem
ty => Thanks! / Thank you
And for now, I think we have JUST found everything there... We have completed our search.
A little quote from one of my friends, who enjoyed the search together with me:
"we opened all the christmas presents, and christmas isn't till next week."
Credit:
- Josh, who supplied our hex editor and discovered ways of making minor modification to smiley images;
- Alex, who took time to discovered the smiley rain;
- and Amy, who was enthusiastic to type in all alphabets and started our brutal force method.
p.s. Shhh.. don't tell your friends this secret... ;P

when is the next version coming out? time to open birthday presents early too =)
It's no fun that we already know "how" to open our next present. We gotta find something more challenging.
How about.. MSN Messenger or AIM? ;) Just a thought..
You helped to contribute to a new website dedicated to hello: http://www.googlehello.com/book/view/3
Thanks!
Neat that you found the auto-expanded keywords!
Thanks for the link-back and the credit!
